Advancement Guidelines

In an effort to pattern the advancement in the Suzuki volumes after the system Dr. Suzuki used in Japan for many years, I have decided to slightly alter my graduation policy.  The purpose of graduating from book to book in the Suzuki philosophy is as follows:

•       To continue to raise the standards of technique and musicianship for students and teachers

•       To provide an incentive for polish and review of literature in a step-by-step mastery approach

•       To provide a means of recognition for students who have achieved a high level of mastery and musicianship at the different levels.

Listed below are the new graduation requirements and qualifying performance levels.  These will replace the former book playthrough recitals of the past.  The new requirements can be met in our regular student recitals in October, February, or May.
